Pastor Darrell served 4 years in the USAF from 1967-1973, worked for a Mesa, AZ. Contractor for 3 years and was owner/operator of The Carpenter Co. from 1974-2004. He graduated from Redeemer Theological Seminary in 1984. Darrell was ordained in 1983 and pastored a church in Chandler Heights from 1983-1986. He served as an Elder at Cornerstone Bible Church, Mesa, AZ. from 1987-1990 and an Elder at Grace Covenant Church in Gilbert from 1994 to present. He was set aside as Associate Pastor in 1999. As the Church Administrator, Darrell oversees the small group ministries, the evangelistic teams, preaches on a regular basis and has served as the Chairman of the Board of Elders for nearly 15 years. Darrell became a Level II NANC Certified Counselor in 2001. He has been Director of the Grace Covenant Counseling Center since 1993. He is also a board member and director of the Biblical Counseling Training Center of Arizona. Darrell has effectively counseled many men and along with his wife, counseled couples since 1992. Together they have counseled over 1,000 individuals.

Wayne Nieman has taught most school subjects to fifth through twelfth grade students over a period of twenty-seven years. He taught five years in the Christian School setting and twenty-two years in the public school. Wayne holds a B.A. Ed; M.Div. and a Ph.D in Marriage and Family Counseling. He is also a D. Min candidate. He received his NANC Certification in 1995 and has counseled part time for fifteen years. He is presently a NANC level II counselor and is working toward becoming a NANC Fellow. He retired as a school teacher in June 2008. Wayne is a board member of the Biblical Counseling Training Center of AZ and serves as a counselor with the Grace Covenant Counseling Ministry. His current ministries include teaching, preaching, counseling and the mission’s ministry board at GCC. Wayne is an Elder candidate at Grace Covenant Church. Previous to coming to Grace Covenant Wayne was an Elder at Cornerstone Bible Fellowship and an ordained minister (Teaching Elder) in the Presbyterian Church in America. Wayne has been married to Sandra Nieman for thirty-seven years. They have two grown sons, a wonderful daughter-in-law, and two grandchildren.

Janet has been married to her husband, Darrell Gustafson, for forty-two years and they have three children and nine grandchildren. She has faithfully served in the counseling ministry at Grace Covenant Church since 1993. Janet is a graduate of the Center for Biblical Training and has received instruction with the Biblical Counseling Foundation and the Institute for Biblical Counseling and Discipleship of Escondido, Calif. She became NANC certified in 2001. Janet is the counseling office manager at Grace Covenant Church and Director of the Women’s Ministry of BCTC. She has a flourishing counseling ministry with women and children and participates in couple and family counseling with her husband. Janet heads the Women’s Bible Study teaching staff and is very active in the Women’s Ministries at Grace Covenant Church. She is a gifted teacher and actively speaks at women’s conferences.
